Implementing Trees into my Virtual World

For the objects within my game I drew them in Photoshop, then created a clipping mask to transfer the scanned images of my felt onto the objects, whilst also copying the image, skewing it and adjusting the brightness/contrast of the image to create a shadow. The textured felt on the trees truly creates a natural aesthetic appearance to them along with enough depth that you can see them as trees, and not just a flat object included in the landscape of my world. I have created a collision mask for each tree and implemented this into the obj_player code, which means that the little player will collide with all of the tree trunks of the trees, creating a ‘realistic’ aspect to my game platform.  -  Standard Edition (v1.4.1763)   01_06_2017 18_38_43.png
